- Female SNE candidates: 52.84% pass rate.

The 2024 results indicate significant variation across different types of schools, with national secondary schools outperforming others:
- National Secondary Schools: Achieved a remarkable 96.63% pass rate.
- District Boarding Schools: Performed well with an 88.65% pass rate.
- City Day Secondary Schools: Secured an 81.95% pass rate.
- Private Secondary Schools: Reached a 61.69% pass rate.
- Community Day Secondary Schools: Recorded a 49.92% pass rate.
The national schools continue to dominate, offering a conducive environment for high achievers, while community day schools, often with limited resources, face challenges in achieving similar outcomes.
Regional and District Performance
In terms of regional performance, Northern Region led with a 58.61% pass rate, followed by Central East (57.79%), and South West (54.32%). The Central West recorded the lowest pass rate at 52.22%.
The top-performing education districts included:
- Zomba Urban: 61.97%
- Mzuzu City: 61.87%
- Karonga: 61.13%
On the other hand, the bottom-performing districts included:
- Machinga: 47.93%
- Thyolo: 49.66%

The top schools based on the percentage of students with distinctions are:
- Lilongwe Islamic: 47.34%

Several schools struggled to achieve any distinctions. Notably, schools such as Vision Pvt (Lilongwe City) and Chivumbe Community (Blantyre Rural) reported 0.00% distinctions.
