Truter arrived in Gqeberha and was introduced to the players and technical staff, with the club wasting no time in getting him settled before a crucial weekend fixture.<\/p>\n
Chippa United travel to Durban to face Kaizer Chiefs at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday. A win would secure their Premiership status without needing to rely on results from other teams.<\/p>\n
The Eastern Cape club sits on 25 points, one place above the playoff spot. ORBIT College are just a point behind them, while Marumo Gallants are also in the mix on the same points as ORBIT. A single win by either side could push Chippa into 15th place and into the playoffs.<\/p>\n
Truter attended training on Monday, addressing the squad for the first time after agreeing to take the job. He was expected to officially lead the session from Tuesday as the team prepared for the trip to Durban.<\/p>\n
Assistant coach Hlanga Dikeni, who had been overseeing the team following the departure of the previous coach, will continue in his role as part of the technical setup.<\/p>\n

Truter is an experienced coach who has worked at several clubs across South African football. He built his reputation at Moroka Swallows, where he guided the club back into the top flight. He has since taken charge at AmaZulu, Sekhukhune United, Richards Bay on two separate occasions, and Upington City.<\/p>\n
He started his coaching career in the lower ranks in the Western Cape and first worked at professional level with Cape Town All Stars before moving up. He is known in football circles by the nickname “Brakkies.”<\/p>\n
Reports suggest that Truter signed a deal that includes an option for him to stay at Chippa beyond Saturday’s match, meaning this could be more than just a one-game appointment depending on how things go.<\/p>\n
